EUDR Compliance
Technology Solution
Our platform streamlines interactions across value chains to help with EUDR compliance requirements. By tracking a product's journey and the environmental impacts from source to it's EU import destination, we provide clients, buyers and key stakeholders with an accurate, reliable and trusted sustainable sourcing due diligence & reporting.
What is EUDR?
The European Union Deforestation Regulation (EUDR) is a landmark legislation is due to come into effect on December 30 2024 to prevent the import and sale of products linked to deforestation and forest degradation in the EU market. The regulation affects seven specific commodities (cocoa, coffee, soy, palm oil, wood, rubber, and cattle) and their derivatives - read KPMG's high-level introduction here.
EUDR requires these companies to conduct supply chain due diligence and provide evidence that their products are legal, sustainable, and deforestation-free. Failure to comply with the EUDR can result in penalties, reputational damage, and market loss.
The due dilligence process has three key elements:
Data Collection
Capture, record and manage records associated with growing locations, geospatial datasets and processing information.
Risk Assessment
Implement a robust risk assessment to determine high risk sourcing and production locations across your whole supply chain.
Risk Mitigation
Manage risks to a negligible level through risk reduction, independent surveys and audits, data quality reviews and ongoing monitoring.
